Be Encouraged, Even in Failure

Even Peter failed. He was a devout follower of Jesus Christ. Yet, there was a time, even as a believer, when he denied even knowing Christ.

In John 13:37, Peter asked, “Lord, why can’t I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.” Then Jesus answered, “Will you really lay down your life for me? Very truly I tell you, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times! As we know, Peter did indeed denied Christ three times.”

Peter was saved by grace through faith, even though his faith was not strong enough to put his faith into action by actually doing what he said he would do–lay down his life for Christ. He believed that he should, and he was convicted to do so, but he didn’t.

Yet Peter became a great evangelist, spreading the gospel all of his life. If you fail in some aspect of being an ambassador of Christ, just confess your sin, continue in the work of Christ, and try to do better. There’s no telling what Christ may have in store for you.
