How Can Predestination Be Fair?

To many of us, the Bible seems to teach the doctrine of predestination, but we’re somewhat afraid to accept it, because it seems so unfair. How could God be a god of justice, and yet elect some to salvation but not others? How can some claim to possess freewill, and yet God overrides that freewill and chooses them anyway?

  1. Jake says:

What makes it unfair is that I am being punished for Adam’s sin.

  2. Shawn says:

What makes it unfair is I didn’t ask to be born, and being compared to a clay pot that can’t feel pain is a cold metaphor, My heart has been hardened, I would embrace mercy and love if they were poured onto me

  3. admin says:

Shawn, God indeed sheds mercy and love on us when He elects us to salvation. When we simply believe that His Son, Jesus Christ, paid for our sins in his death on the cross, and then He was resurrected.

I do believe that, I think I am a Hebrews 6 and Hebrews 10 example, so it’s my own fault, But if I was never of them, how can I recruit to fight this and I’ve got a fresh if I was never truly of them, if I am damned, why am I still alive and breathing? Thank God for the mercy that I’m not in hell right now, but I’m so scared i’m not going to give up because there is no profit in that even if I am damned already and have crossed the line, But when I give an account to God, I will have nothing to say except for the fact that I have no excuses, I cannot reason with Him, When He sends me to hell, I will just have to say amen…Because it is for His glory, I know no matter what I say God is right and I am wrong because his thoughts are higher than ours, so fairness is it really something we can put into the equation… and He can do no wrong….I just don’t understand how people can have children, when they know that the odds are against them I’m going to heaven if few find it, I don’t know if God still wants people to pray for me, there are people in the Bible that sinned
far less than me that did not obtain mercy, and they cannot find one example in the new testament of someone who fell away from the faith and was overcome by sin and their old ways, and was restored

Typo correction, I meant to say crucify the son of God afresh

  6. Shaun Lieser says:

There are a few typos in my comment, I apologize but I think you can put the pieces together

  7. Shaun Lieser says:

God is self-sufficient, he cannot be lonely, he doesn’t need us, yet he created a world in which the majority of people are going to be in torment for eternity… I know I can’t judge God but I don’t have his mind, i’m weak, I fell away, and he cut me off Hebrew six makes that clear, I didn’t know what I was doing, I was stupid and young obviously many are called and few are chosen and I wasn’t chosen, I’m not elect…. if before I was born someone told me that very few people make it through the narrow gate and it is extremely difficult… I would’ve said no thanks…Put me back into the nothing, I would not experience loss because there would be nothing to miss

Perhaps you have not fallen away my friend, i do not know your situation, but perhaps you rather had delayed progress. From what you are saying you love God and want justice, i’m not sure someone who wants God and justice can be lost.

  9. Rami says:

Shaun, you should also study the parable of the prodigal son, when the son came back to His Father then He Loved him and rejoiced greatly over him, I think that is your case. because if it was not so, then why would you even care about The Father… you would want to avoid thinking about Him and you would be in the world living without caring about God, the very fact that you care for God means you are someone different, the fact that you love Him and want to follow Him shows He Is calling you home. enough with your sin, we all fall short and we all fail, it’s called backsliding, king David himself fell into adultery and he was forgiven, we all fall into sin sometimes, we must repent daily. you should not give up on God because those you mention Hebrew 6 and 10 where never part of The Elect, meaning they learned about God and denied Him before being saved, and they do not want Him, if you do then you are not of them, if you still believe in The Name of Jesus Christ, Yahshua Ha Messiah, that He Is Risen from the dead and Alive Forevermore in Heaven, then you are not condemned, God Loves you man, turn to Him with a broken heart and He Will forgive you your iniquity:
Romans 8:28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

1 Corinthians 13:7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Isaiah 43:18 Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old.

Predestination is not the only way a person can become saved. Both predestination and free will are in the bible. This means that if you are not lucky enough to have been predestined you can use your free will to choose The Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour.

Jesus said “If I be lifted up I will draw all men to myself” And he also said All those that come to me I will in noise cast out” There for we should stop debating is predestination true or fair and exercise your free will and ask the Lord Jesus Christ to become the Lord of your life and The Lord Jesus Christ as already said He will not cast you out. Praise the Lord your heaven bound!!!
